Match report by Michael Another wholly depressing performance, the team actually looks better on paper than it did on the pitch, with a number of the better players playing out of position. The first 20 mins was reasonably encouraging and one wonders what might have been had Danny Jones early goalbound header not been cleared off the goal-line. The impressive Leroy Griffiths and Craig Maskell were far too good for the hard working trio of Peddie, Reddington and Chandler while in Midfield the Es were completely outplayed, with McDonald and Magona looking lost out of position. Things didn't improve when Gregoriou came on for Magona and whilst it was good to see Johnson get on for the injured Reddington (why was he left out in the first place?), he too looked a shadow of himself when asked to play a central Midfield role - his impressive right wing-back performances obviously having had no impact on Tom.

In truth, apart from Jonah's early effort, we never looked like scoring and you do wonder where the next goal is coming from. Steve Hilton did actually make some good saves and the result could have been worse than that inflicted on Dulwich by Sutton.

The team needs organisation and team spirit - that can only be installed by those on the bench and there was little yesterday to show that they are up to the job. Please, please , please, Mr Lazarou - go now so that we can save our club!

Sutton United (0) 2 Hayworth 55; Ekoku 56
Enfield (3) 3 Allen 18, 30; Chandler 33

Match report as phoned in live to the website by Horses Mouth/Glory Hunter

10 mins: Enfield are kicking with a strong wind behind them. First chance of the game falls to Sutton with Hilton pushing over the rasping drive.

18 mins:1-0 A poor backpass from Sutton No4, Flemming challenged the keeper, crossed the ball to Allen who beats his man and fired past the keeper. The Horses Mouth is happy

30 mins: 2-0 A through ball from Danny Jones, Allen runs on to it and fires across the keeper to bag his brace

33 mins: 3-0 From a succession of crosses a weak defensive header fell to Chandler who headed home from 6 yards

55 mins: 3-1 A long ball over the top for Hayworth to run onto and whilst looking suspiciously offside hit a shot which the keeper got his hand to but trickled agonisingly over the line.

56 mins: 3-2 Two mistakes by Reddington gave a chance on the left side and Ekoku hit a mighty powerful shot in off the underside of the bar. Horses Mouth "Its going badly wrong"

75 mins: Fine save from Hilton from a Sutton free kick. Booking for Curtis Johnson and Rodesthendos on for Allen

85 mins: 5 official mins left but quite a lot of injury time expected as a long injury to Reddington and some time-wasting from Hilton. Hang in there.

FINAL WHISTLE: Enfield just about held on to a 3 goal advantage at half time to win 3-2 at Sutton tonight. The inclement weather helped to really make it a game of two halves with driving wind and rain. A long period of injury time at the end of the game made it a nailbiting finish but our on-the-spot reporter said:- "Enfield played very well, especially in the second half and would award Chandler the Man-of-the-Match award" Horses mouth "Happy"

Grays Athletic (1) 2 Abrahams 44; Southgate 59 (pen)
Enfield (0) 0

Soddy and mud-caked. The players stood by the players tunnel after this game a beaten side. A downpour soon into this relegation battle reduced this game to little more than a lottery in midfield. George Georgiou (a 2,000 or 15,000 goal machine depending on who you believe) made his debut at no10. Enfield chances were rare, with Moody forcing the only save from the opposition keeper, though he could do nothing with the rebound as the ball came back at him. Meanwhile, ex E Glenn Southgate tested Hilton from a free kick. Grays also thought they had scored, but were as miserable as the gateman who complained about everyone coming into the ground with 20 pound notes 'ere Len - they're doin' it again' when they realised it had been chalked off. Just when the messageboard pundits were predicting a goalless result, a mistake by Chandler let in Abrahams for the opener. Glenn Southgate kept up the tradition of ex players scoring against Enfield. Hilton being the culprit, conceeding a needless penalty. The ref was dire - missing a quite blatant penalty as Boyce had has legs taken from under him late on. Or as one wag shouted out: 'he's not trying to foul him - more like drown him!'

Back to the drawing board for next week, methinks.

Maidenhead United (2) 2 Channell 36, 45
Enfield (1) 1 Georgiou 26

Chances galore for Enfield this afternoon, with opposition keeper Richard Barnard coming between Enfield and three points. Time after time a despairing lunge, a block or a brilliant save was the difference between a useful point and what is now a rather nervous glance over our shoulders at who is coming up the blind side.

The first twenty minutes was typical relegation football, so lets skip that and move on to the more interesting details. The real start of this match came after 23 minutes with a succession of corners that led ultimately to the opening goal. Allen's first corner on the left drifted over to the far post for Reddington to direct a low header at full length goalwards. Barnard smothered that one away for another corner. Allen again took it and after a scramble in the box, Bird thought he had got the opener till Barnard somehow bought off a reaction save to tip the ball over the bar. Finally, at the third attempt, Allen's inswinging corner fell beautifully for Georgiou to glance a header past Barnard on the line. Instant relief behind the goal.

All the good work was undone in the space of ten minutes with first a headed goal off the base of Addai's right hand post and then, unforgivably, from a goal kick the ball bounced beyond Enfield's defence for a simple one against one that wasn't missed. An absolute disaster. The tannoy which had been blasting out before the match was painfully silent when it came to goal information.

Maidenhead came out for the second half with their tails well up. Enfield dealt with this pressure and for the remaining thirty minutes created enough chances to have secured if not all points, then at least a draw. Rodosthenous, Reddington and Jones in particular looked capable of opening up Maidenhead's shaky defence but lacked the final killer pass or were thwarted by that man Barnard, who had in the meantime got some stick after going down like a sack of spuds and milked it for what it was worth. Oh yeah, and Maidenhead's sending off was for what the referee described as 'some shoving and a kick at an Enfield player'.

After the match there was an amazing incident outside the dressing rooms when our physio - the large one who runs out on the pitch - Steve Quinton, lost his rag when he overheard one of our party politely enquire as to when we were win again. Sorry! - but if our staff cannot control their emotions under pressure and not keep their foul language to themselves, then I wonder quite how they got into their position in the first place.
